Organic JAS Certification in Western Uganda

Ease Business International Ltd supported the implementation of the (JAS) Organic Certification for farmer groups in Western Uganda. The project aimed at enabling smallholder farmers to meet international organic standards, access new markets, and increase income through sustainable agricultural practices.

Objectives

Train farmers on JAS organic certification requirements.
Establish internal control systems for compliance.
Facilitate certification audits and inspections.
Strengthen farmers’ capacity for sustainable organic production.

Outcomes

Farmer groups in Kasese & Rukungiri certified under Organic JAS standards.
Increased access to premium organic markets.
Enhanced income and livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.
